Have you started using RSS - ”Really Simple Syndication”? I believe some of you may already started implementing RSS Feed in your blogs to allow others to syndicate your contents automatically.

For the past few weeks, I already have some friends asking me questions related to RSS. From the conversation with them, I have noticed that many are only aware of the existence of the standard orange RSS icon, but not the usage and functionality. If you are also like them, I urge you to watch this video – “RSS in Plain English”.

Basically, this video introduces RSS as a way to subscribe to websites and explains how it can save your surfing time on the web.

In this video, you will learn:

The new and old ways of reading news on the web

An introduction to RSS Readers (using Google Reader as an example)

How to identify and subscribe to an RSS feed

What to expect when using an RSS reader

Do you find it hard to generate content for your blog post?

In fact, I’ve ever asked this question in BlogCatalog Discussion forum: “What is the hardest part in blogging?” And guess what, many have also seen content generation as one of the major problems in blogging.

Content generation and writing are the two key components of any blog post. If you can’t clearly express and translate your thoughts and ideas in writing, it is going to be very difficult to attract your first time visitors to come back and read your blog again because they don’t clearly understand what the objective of your blog is, possibly including search engine spiders or crawlers.

I hope this article will be a useful guide especially for rookie bloggers on how to generate content for their blogs.

Basically, there are 4 different types of articles you can write for your blog post:

1. Tips-Based Article

I love writing tips-based articles and 80% of my blog posts would be tips-based. So what is a Tips-based article? Tips-based article is a type of article which you can write to provide your readers with useful tips on a particular niche topic of interest for making their life better, happier or easier. For example, “9 Tips To Help Boost Your Child’s Self-Esteem” is a tips-based article that you may want to write in parenting blog.

For tips-based article, you can also explain tips in a sequential step-by-step manner on how to do certain thing. For example, in one of my blog posts, I show my readers on how to facelift a FeedBurner Email Subscription Form in 5 easy steps.

2. Facts-Based Article

Facts-based article is all about facts and you can use it to inform or increase the knowledge of your readers through the use of proven facts in its content. For example, “Is your child right or left brained dominant?” can be an interesting facts-based article for a parenting blog.

When you write a facts-based article, it’s highly recommended to include reliable references to back up the facts you use, especially those involving medical or scientific information. Having in-line references from credible sources will definitely help to increase the credibility of your article.

3. Recommendation Article

A recommendation article is usually written by marketers to review and promote a product or service. Therefore, the contents of the article you write have to be informative and reader-friendly.

It’s important to take note that when it comes to reviewing a product or service is that you don’t have to only mention the positive aspects. Your potential customers would like to hear some of the things that you don’t like about the product or service as well. Doing this will also help to build your credibility with readers.

You can check out my recent recommendation article: Atomic Blogging 3.0 – Guide To Be A ProBlogger

Also, please pay close attention to new The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) rules that went into effect on Decemeber 1, 2009. The new FTC regulations say that blog authors must now disclose if they’re being paid to review and promote a product online.

Click here if you want to know more about FTC regulations.

4. Personal Experience Article

Lastly, this type of article is all about your own story and personal experience that you had or somebody else had that relates to your blog niche, as well as readers’ interest.

Today, Internet is flooded with contents and you can find articles on almost any topics you can think of. So, writing personal experience article by injecting your personality into it will help to set yourself apart from others and build a closer relationship with your readers.

In fact, whatever type of articles you write, it can be tips-based, facts-based or recommendation article, it’s always good to have your own personal experience and personality in it. The basic idea behind is to let your readers know that there’s an actual person writing the article.

What if you don’t have good writing skills or don’t have much time to generate content for your blog?

You may want to consider the following options:

Option #1: Source for PLR articles

PLR articles are usually written by a ghostwriter and then sold to several website or blog owners. Another words, you and a limited number of other website owners have the rights to re-edit, re-brand and claim as your own written articles, without being required to give anyone else credit for writing the articles.

If you want to know more about PLR articles, please read this article: FAQ Interview With PLR Expert Nicole Dean.

Option #2: Hire a Ghostwriter

If you are on a strict budget, you can hire students who are good in writing to do the work for you. If not, it’s highly recommended to hire a professional freelance writer from GetAFreelancer.com, Elance.com or ScriptLance.com.

How do you usually generate content for your blog? Please share with us if you have any new blog ideas for content generation.

Have you seriously started blogging yet? If not, now is the time to get serious with blogging or you may want to make it as your new New Year’s resolution.

Blogging is no longer just a fad or something that individuals do in their free time to broadcast stuff happening in their daily lives. Today, blogging has already become an important part of many people’s lives and a profession to some individuals.

In recent years, blogging has brought changes to politics, business and society. Many politicians are using blogs as a tool to connect and reach out to their constituents or voters. Many business owners are leveraging blogging as a platform to promote their business and even to manage customer complaints to bring their business to new heights, either online or offline. What is interesting to me is that blogging has also created an excellent opportunity for anyone who wants to Make Money Online from the comfort of their home.

If you’re looking for a step-by-step guide to help you to start a Money Making Blog and learn how to blog like a ProBlogger, I strongly urge you to at least check out a proven blogging system called Atomic Blogging 3.0. This product has been rated highly by many top Internet marketing Gurus and tested by thousands of bloggers around the world including myself.

Click Here To Find Out More…

My personal experience and preferences with Atomic Blogging 3.0

1. First of all, the blogging guide in Atomic Blogging 3.0 is certainly not an over-priced eBook with full of crap stuffs.

2. In fact, this blogging guide has helped me in setting up and configuring my very first WordPress Blog. Like most people, I initially started out with Blogger.com.

3. I’m quite impressed with the amount of details and also the screenshots (edited with written instructions) that the author has put up in the blogging guide to help a complete beginner to create a profitable blog fast and to blog like a ProBlogger. Video tutorials are also provided to make sure you won’t miss out the important parts. I would say this product is easily either under priced or over valued!

4. Atomic Blogging 3.0 is really a great product but not for everyone. This product basically is targeted at beginner bloggers who are willing to pay for the domain name and web hosting plan for hosting a WordPress blog.

5. The only negative comments I have about Atomic Blogging 3.0 is that there are several spelling and grammatical errors in the eBook, nevertheless it should be good enough to understand.
